About Us
Raincoast Gael is a new west coast supergroup, featuring two of western Canada's finest traditional singers and songwriters, Eileen McGann and Colleen Eccleston, with acclaimed cellist Rachel Capon, plus, for festival sets, the multi-instrumentalist energy of David K on Irish bouzouki, bass, mandolin, harmony vocals and guitars. Between them, they have logged over a century of experience on the Canadian, US and UK music scenes, and garnered awards and nominations galore. Together, they fill the air with stunning three-part harmonies and dynamic arrangements of traditional Celtic and west coast songs that reflect Canada's Pacific Celtic landscapes and heartscapes.

Our History |
Raincoast Gael began in 2015, when Eileen McGann and Colleen Eccleston met up and realized that they had both always wanted to sing together, and now that they both lived on Vancouver Island, it was time to begin! Each of them had been working for some time on songs that connect earth and spirit as well as traditional songs of the Celtic Otherworld. Adding Rachel Capon's dynamic cello and beautiful harmony vocals to the mix made it all come together into music that makes the air shimmer with song!
